New UCLA Obstetrics and Gynecology Faculty

UCLA Obstetrics and Gynecology is pleased to introduce the following new faculty members: Dr. Rimsha Ahmed, Dr. Megan Bernstein, Dr. Christopher Douglas, Dr. Kathryn Goldrath, Dr. Daniel Lee, Dr. Hannah Reiser, Dr. Robert Roman and Dr. Michele Torosis.

Rimsha Ahmed, MD
Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Rimsha Ahmed, MD

Dr. Ahmed received her medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Penn State Health Medical Center and an Advanced Pelvic Surgery fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine. Prior to UCLA, Dr. Ahmed’s experience includes clinical practice at the Women & Infants Hospital and Medical School of Brown University in Rhode Island. There she focused her care on women’s health emergency services and provided quality medical care for diverse patient populations.

Dr. Ahmed’s clinical interests include minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, office procedures, contraceptive management, abnormal uterine bleeding, adolescent health, family planning, and reproductive advocacy. In addition to her broad scope of practice within clinical medicine, Dr. Ahmed is passionate about medical education and training our future physicians.

She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Ahmed is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and sees patients in our Westwood location.

Megan Bernstein, MD

Megan Bernstein

Dr. Bernstein received her medical degree at UC Irvine School of Medicine. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at UCLA School of Medicine, where she served as Administrative Chief resident. She also received a Master of Science degree in Global Medicine from the University of Southern California.

Dr. Bernstein’s clinical interests include general obstetrics and gynecology, high-risk pregnancy, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including laparoscopic and vaginal hysterectomy, family planning, and contraception. Her research interests include maternal mental health, quality improvement, and medical education. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG). Dr. Bernstein sees patients in our Santa Monica location.

Christopher Douglas, MD, MS

Dr. Christopher Douglas

Dr. Douglas received his medical degree from Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. He completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Douglas also received a Master of Science in Nutrition at Columbia University prior to starting medical school.

Dr. Douglas’s clinical expertise includes comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care. His research interests include transgender health, nutrition in pregnancy, fertility, and menopause. He is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Douglas sees patients in our Santa Monica location.

Kathryn Goldrath, MD

Kathryn E. Goldrath, MD

Dr. Goldrath received her medical degree from the University of Michigan School of Medicine. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency and her Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery fellowship at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

Dr. Goldrath has clinical interests in complex benign gynecology including endometriosis, fibroids, abnormal vaginal bleeding, benign ovarian cysts, gender-affirming care and minimally invasive surgery including conventional laparoscopy, robotic surgery, vNOTES (transvaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery), radiofrequency ablation and advanced hysteroscopy. Her research interests include emerging technologies and improving diagnostics for endometriosis/fibroids, medical education, and gynecologic surgical simulation. Dr. Goldrath is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and sees patients in our Marina Del Rey location.

Daniel Lee, MD

Daniel S. Lee

Dr. Lee received his medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where he also served as Administrative Chief Resident. 

Dr. Lee’s clinical expertise includes full-scope obstetrics and gynecology care, with a special interest in LGBTQ+ health, gender-affirming care, minimally invasive surgery, general obstetrics, family planning, and medical education. His research interests include quality improvement, labor management, and trans care. He is a member of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG). Dr. Lee sees patients in our Westwood location. 

Hannah Reiser, MD

Hannah C. Reiser, MD

Dr. Reiser received her medical degree from Loyola University of Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals and her Complex Family Planning fellowship at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

Dr. Reiser’s clinical expertise includes complex family planning, complex contraception, abortion care, gender healthcare, menstrual suppression, difficult IUDs and contraceptive implants, and prenatal care. Her research interests include clinical informatics, quality improvement, cost-effectiveness analysis, non-tubal ectopic pregnancy management, and medical education. She is a member of the Society of Family Planning and ACOG. Dr. Reiser is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and sees patients in our Santa Monica location.

Robert Roman, MD

Robert Roman, MD

Dr. Roman received his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at University of Tennessee College of Medicine and his Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia.

Dr. Roman’s clinical expertise includes the breadth of reproductive endocrinology with special interests in in vitro fertilization, preconception genetics, preimplantation genetic testing, fertility preservation, and LGBTQ+ family building. His research interests include reproductive genomics, genetics of unexplained infertility, estrogen insensitivity syndrome, and differences in sex development. He is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). Dr. Roman is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and sees patients in our Santa Monica location. 

Michele Torosis, MD

Michele L. Torosis, MD

Dr. Torosis received her medical degree from the University of California, Irvine. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Stanford University and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

Dr. Torosis’s clinical interests include pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, and voiding dysfunction, with expertise in robotic and minimally invasive surgery. Her research includes emerging technologies, overactive bladder phenotyping, and improving diagnostics for pelvic floor disorders. She is a member of the American Urogynecologic Society and Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine & Urogenital Reconstruction. Dr. Torosis is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and sees patients in our Marina Del Rey and Westwood locations.
