We are an alliance of UCLA Health and Orthopaedic Instituate for Children, joining programs with long traditions of patient-centered care, academic excellence, and scientific advancement.
Our program creates a platform for unparalleled contributions to adult and pediatric patient care and scientific discovery in orthopaedic surgery and musculoskeletal medicine. We strive to create a new standard of musculoskeletal care and be a destination for patients, world-class faculty, and inquisitive students.
Combining the best in orthopaedic medicine and surgical care, along with strong rehabilitation and diagnostic imaging programs, our practice is nationally recognized for outstanding orthopaedic care and innovative research. Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is on the honor roll of Best Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Many of our faculty are consistently named among the “Best Doctors in America". Additionally, our orthopaedic program is connected to one of the largest and most productive orthopaedic research facilities in the world, the J. Vernon Luck, Sr., M.D. Orthopaedic Research Center on the UCLA campus.
UCLA Health's academic medical centers Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center, UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital, and UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital offer musculoskeletal treatment and surgical intervention for the most challenging cases. We also provide orthopaedic services through our affiliations with the Veterans Administration Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System and pediatric care with the Orthopaedic Institute for Children in Los Angeles. We partner with county hospitals to provide care to underserved patients.
Our department is the official health care partner of the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Sparks and UCLA Athletics.
