Dermatopathology

Dermatopathology is the pathology service concerned with the diagnosis of skin disease. The dermatopathology team, led by Dr. Chandra Smart, Chief of Dermatopathology, evaluates inflammatory skin diseases and neoplastic skin diseases, with special expertise in diagnosing cutaneous lymphoid tumors and challenging melanocytic lesions. Other key members of the faculty include Drs. George Sarantopoulos, Yuna Kang, and Gregory Gates, all with broad expertise. The Dermatopathology team has published numerous papers in leading journals. Renowned also for outstanding service, our dermatopathologists are always available for second opinions, discussion of prognosis, treatment options or special needs.
