GI Header

The gastrointestinal (GI) pathology service at UCLA provides rapid and high quality diagnostic histopathology on endoscopic biopsies and resections of the gastrointestinal tract and pancreaticobiliary system. Our service aids clinicians to provide the most appropriate care for patients with diseases due to inflammation, infection, neoplasia, congenital-inherited disorders, trauma and iatrogenic injury. These include major conditions such as Barrett esophagus, esophagitis, gastritis, malabsorptive disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, polyps, and benign and malignant neoplasms including lymphoma. The service also provides expertise in small bowel transplant pathology.

  • Molecular testing for gastrointestinal and pancreaticobiliary malignancies including carcinoma, lymphoma and sarcoma
  • Rapid diagnosis of gastrointestinal and pancreaticobiliary biopsies and resections
  • Electron microscopy
