Smartphone Ultrasonography for Trauma Patients (Cameroon)

A healthcare worker performing point of care ultrasound with a smartphone

This NIH Fogarty International Center-funded project (Award R33TW012609) aims to improve diagnosis and treatment of life-threatening injuries in Cameroon using smartphone ultrasonography. Led by Dr. Sabrinah Ariane Christie and Dr. Alain Mefire Chichom, the project leverages mobile technology to enhance trauma care delivery, addressing critical gaps in diagnostic capabilities in low-resource settings. The initiative builds on existing trauma research infrastructure to improve outcomes for trauma patients.
