Sustainable Trauma Research, Education, and Mentorship Program (STREaM) Cameroon

Diverse group of adults posing in a conference room.

The Sustainable Trauma Research, Education, and Mentorship Program (STREaM), supported by the Fogarty International Center (NIH Award D43TW012186), addresses the high burden of trauma in sub-Saharan Africa by training Cameroonian postgraduate candidates in injury prevention, quality improvement and quantitative methods. Through a partnership between the University of Buea, UCLA, UC Berkeley and the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences, STREaM aims to establish an Injury Research Center at Buea, develop trauma research curricula, provide mentored research opportunities and create a Cameroonian Trauma Network.
