Advanced Heart Failure Program

The UCLA Advanced Heart Failure Program is comprised of an expert team of cardiologists with specialized training and expertise in managing the complexities of heart failure. The Ahmanson-UCLA Cardiomyopathy Center and UCLA Heart Transplant Center have led the way over the past two decades to develop new medical therapies, devices and disease-management strategies for heart failure. These advances significantly improve quality of life for patients, reduce their risk for hospitalization and improve their chances for survival.

As advanced heart failure can have a wide variety of causes, such as genetic mutations and congenital heart disease, and often has concomitant issues such as arrhythmias, our team works in close collaboration with cardiologists from a variety of programs. Additionally, our comprehensive program offers advanced therapies that include mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation.
