The Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA seeks a physician-scientist for a full-time position at the associate or full professor ranks commensurate with experience. Candidates must have an established independent research program, a record of clinical excellence, in addition to proven teaching abilities. His/her/their research focus should be translational with an emphasis on infectious diseases processes. Priority areas of interest include transplantation related issues, virology, bacterial resistance, mycology, emerging infectious diseases or tuberculosis. Rich opportunities are available for cooperative research with UCLA scientists in many disciplines. Candidates must have an M.D. or M.D., Ph.D. and be board certified in Infectious Diseases and licensed or licensable to practice medicine in the state of California.

The Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is seeking applicants for a full-time, Postdoctoral position. The candidate will conduct research in mucosal immunology and the microbiome in the context of HIV and substance use. Preferred qualifications: Familiar with techniques such as multi-color flow cytometry and/or mass cytometry, sterile technique for cell culture with BSL-2+ practices, ELISA, qRT-PCR, and sterile technique for bacterial culture. Bioinformatics knowledge is preferred but is not required. Experience in bacteriology research (especially anaerobes) is preferred but not required. The candidate should be comfortable working with BSL2+ biospecimens including biospecimens (cells, plasma, gut tissues, saliva) from patients with HIV. A Ph.D. is required.

The Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is seeking candidates for a one-year clinical (non-ACGME accredited) career development position in Transplant Infectious Diseases during academic year 2023-2024 or academic year 2024-2025. Eligible applicants will have completed at least two years of an ACGME-accredited Infectious Diseases fellowship program, either board certified or board eligible in Infectious Diseases, and have a California medical license or be CA license-eligible. The application process for this one-year position does not involve the National Residency Matching Program. Successful applicants will be appointed to a full-time faculty position as Health Sciences Clinical Instructor, precepted by UCLA Transplant ID specialists. Under the supervision of the Infectious Diseases faculty, the position will work on the inpatient Transplant ID services for approximately 8 months. This will include approximately 1 weekend per month of coverage as well as working over one major holiday. Additionally, there will be an opportunity to participate in 3 months of elective time designed to complement your ID training and provide time for pursuit of scholarly activities. During general ID service, the candidate will teach medical students, residents and fellows who may be rotating. An M.D. or D.O. is required.

The focus of this position is to provide advanced training in the expanding field of Transplant Infectious Diseases and will offer exposure to patients undergoing heart, lung, liver, and kidney transplantation and ventricular assist device implantation, as well as patients with hematologic malignancies and undergoing hematopoietic cell transplantation.

The position involves outpatient HIV Medicine (including treatment and prevention) and HIV Primary Care at the UCLA CARE Clinic. The position will oversee clinical operations and staffing for the clinic. Opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, clinical research, resident and fellow teaching, and weekend ID inpatient coverage (if appropriate) are available. Five years of clinical HIV care experience preferred. Administrative experience preferred. Clinical research interests preferred. BC/BE for Infectious Disease or AAHIVM certification required.
