Program Director Dr. Donahue, featured here with two former UCLA general surgery residents and now UCLA surgery faculty, leads a translational lab focusing on therapeutics for pancreatic cancer.

The Division of Surgical Oncology has dedicated significant resources to progressing the understanding of a wide spectrum of malignancies including pancreas and breast cancer, melanoma, and sarcoma. Along the UCLA Johnson Cancer Center, surgeons work alongside other clinicians and researchers to improve early diagnosis, staging, treatment and ultimately prevention of cancer associated morbidity and mortality. Many of our surgical oncology faculty run active labs and have secured sizable grant funding over the years. Several residents have also spent professional development time at the National Cancer Institute under the tutelage of Dr. Steven Rosenberg and colleagues.
