The Heaney Lab in the Division of Endocrinology, Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine invites applications for a postdoctoral position to conduct research on development of novel treatment of neuroendocrine tumors. Dr. Heaney’s research program focuses on disease model establishment and drug screen. Ongoing projects include identification of therapeutic targets of pituitary and other neuroendocrine tumors.

Qualified applicants must have strong oral/written communication and critical thinking skills. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in molecular endocrinology, a strong research background in tumor biology and experience working with primary cultures and mice. Candidates will be expected to contribute to ongoing projects and expand novel independent research projects in a collaborative research environment. A Ph.D. is required.

Responsibilities include experimental designs and execution, data analysis, team and conference presentation, literature reviews and paper writing. The candidate will be encouraged to collaborate broadly with research teams at UCLA and beyond and therefore must have good communication, teamwork and leadership skills. Prior experience with cutting-edge computational techniques is desired but not necessary.

The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in the Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral scholar.

Projects require an ability to design experiments, to manage their execution and to author peer-reviewed research papers. Candidates should have experience with cell biological techniques, such as cell culture, transfections, microscopy and with molecular and biochemical analysis.

Qualified applicants must have strong oral/written communication and critical thinking skills. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in imaging and a strong research background in mitochondrial biology. A Ph.D. is required.

The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in the Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invites applications for a faculty position at the level of Clinical Instructor or Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor ranks. This is an exceptional opportunity for a leader who will oversee a large and expanding inpatient dysglycemia service in 2 university hospital settings, namely the Ronald Reagan (RRUMC) and Santa Monica (SM) UCLA medical centers . The RRUMC program is already staffed with 3 Nurse Practitioners and at least 2 further NPs will be recruited for the SM site. The program manages inpatient dysglycemia in a rich variety of settings including complex multi-organ transplant and oncological patients in addition to a broad range of specialty surgical and medical patients. Direct supervision of the inpatient dysglycemia service will be expected. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will engage in quality improvement and research activity focused on in-patient hyperglycemia management and outcomes to position UCLA at the forefront of inpatient glycemic care. An individualized schedule comprised of protected time for research, direct supervision and oversight of the inpatient hyperglycemia service and an outpatient practice located close to the inpatient sites will be developed with the successful applicant.
