Coronary CT angiography (Coronary CTA) is a highly accurate test for non-invasive diagnosis of coronary artery disease (CAD). Coronary CTA enables the characterization of coronary artery disease burden – from significant, obstructive plaque to mild, non-obstructive disease. With the introduction of non-invasive AI-supported CT-fractional flow reserve (CT-FFR) analysis, the physicians of UCLA Health are able to offer more precise evaluation of the severity of CAD.
Coronary CTA examinations are performed using our top-of-the-line, ultrafast, dual-source CT scanners, which allow for comprehensive imaging of the heart in only a few seconds. With the utilization of CT-FFR a 3D model of your heart’s arteries is generated, which determines the significance of obstructive disease utilizing techniques derived from fluid-dynamics in combination with artificial intelligence (AI). This information assists physicians in defining an individualized treatment strategy and can avoid unnecessary invasive follow-up studies such as catheter angiography.
CT-FFR assessment is performed as an additional service based on Coronary CTA imaging, and has to be ordered by a physician. No additional imaging or radiation is required.
UCLA Health offers cash pricing if CT FFR Analysis is not covered by your insurance plan.
