Anti-Vaping Task Force

The Anti-Vaping Champions Task Force is the driving force of our efforts in the public sphere. Healthcare providers, public and behavioral health professionals, educators, students, professional healthcare organizations, advocacy groups, community organizations, and other neighbors can participate in coalition planning, educational visits, and advocacy to spread awareness, reduce consumption, and limit the accessibility of vaping and tobacco products.

Clinical Support

In collaboration with the American Academy of Pediatrics-California Chapter 2 (Southern California), Anti-Vaping Champions aims to systematically improve the percentage of vaping screening and intervention among pediatric patients. Our team utilizes the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) method of quality improvement to discover shortcomings in existing identification and treatment protocol, suggest possible areas for improvement, and assist in the implementation of a screening and cessation referral policy with our partner clinics.

Curriculum Design

At the training level, Anti Vaping Champions aims to address vaping and nicotine addiction through the development and incorporation of a redesigned nicotine addiction treatment curriculum into professional health care training programs. By introducing specific training for nicotine and tobacco dependence, along with a history of the tobacco epidemic and the industry's role in creating it, we prepare future practitioners to make direct change in their communities through health care delivery.
