Cytology
The Division of Cytology offers a comprehensive cytodiagnostic, screening and consultative service, including examination of gynecologic, non-gynecologic, and fine needle aspiration specimens. The Cytology service reviews approximately 49,000 cases per year. The division has an outstanding quality assurance program that consists of evaluating all current surgical pathology specimens with corresponding cytology specimens to enhance patient care. The Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) service includes both samples collected from superficial nodules and from deep nodules. Immediate adequacy assessment is performed as requested.
