UCLA Health has made significant progress in our sustainability efforts. We are consulted as a leader and have been recognized by Practice Greenhealth as a Top 25 hospital system for sustainability practices in the country. But even though we have made great strides, we still know we have a long way to go to achieve our ambitious goals.
We understand our responsibility to the clinicians of tomorrow, and integrating sustainability into the education of our nursing and medical students remains a priority. We are working with our David Geffen School of Medicine to update the health curriculum to include climate change, environmental justice, health equity, and the social determinants of health. Our partnerships with the Fielding School of Public Health and Healthy Climate Solutions teams seek to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change to the most vulnerable populations in the greater Los Angeles area.
For more information, our progress is tracked annually through the University of California Sustainability Annual Report.
