Day of Mindfulness: Working with Anger- Developing Skill in the Midst of Intense Feeling
with Matthew Brensilver, PhD

From minor irritation to abiding rage, anger has important effects on our lives, our families and our society. If we are to be deeply happy and nourish the happiness of others, we must include anger as part of the mindfulness path.

While we acknowledge the suffering caused by anger, our approach does not dismiss anger. Often, anger contains wisdom and delusion. Mindfulness helps us untangle these threads. To do so, we practice meeting the experience of anger with compassion, creating conditions for understanding to grow.

During this daylong, we’ll learn meditative strategies to untangle anger into its experiential components.

Day of Mindfulness: Freedom from Anxiety
with Diana Winston

If you are struggling with anxiety, you are not alone!

Most people face daily anxiety, worry, and fear, even in the best of times. But these emotions have been intensified, quite obviously, given the pandemic and all the resulting uncertainty and challenges.

In this day of mindfulness, we will learn how to be mindful amid anxiety and fear. We will discover how to use mindfulness to manage the ways in which our minds quite naturally (and habitually) worry and ruminate. We will also learn to cultivate states of mind that counteract these emotions and habits -- states of fearlessness, ease, and kindness. We will spend the day with sitting and walking meditations, lecture, dialogue, and reflections.

Date: Sunday, February 28, 10 am- 3 pm, PST
