Nathania Hartojo, MD 

Nathania Hartojo (she/her) earned her MD from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College and her BA in Neuroscience from Pomona College. Raised in a multilingual immigrant community, she has shaped her career around a simple conviction: that culturally responsive, in-language care is a requirement of evidence-based medicine. That belief took shape through her work with the HOBSCOTCH Institute, where she helped translate a cognitive self-management program for epilepsy patients into Spanish and partnered with the Epilepsy Alliance of Florida to reach patients with linguistic barriers to care. 

Her work in health equity also extends to food access. As an Albert Schweitzer Fellow, she partnered with the Dartmouth Cancer Center to create a hospital-based food pantry for cancer patients struggling with food insecurity. She also made sure to promote and support underrepresented communities in medicine through her positions as the chapter president of the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association and a student advisor on the Geisel Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement council.

A former professional oboist in Los Angeles, Nathania also continues to express herself creatively through knitting, creating and listening to live music, writing, and photography. Outside of music and medicine, she also hosts dinner clubs and tends to a thriving home orchard.
