Request Data Access

Access to curated ATLAS Datasets are currently provisioned through Collibra. Please see below for full process to request and obtain access.

*By submitting your access request you are agreeing to sharing your project information details with other UCLA Researchers in the ATLAS Project List.

Data Use Considerations

For UCLA researchers interested in using the ATLAS Dataset, here are a few other considerations:

Resources we provide

Individual Resources
Each user receives access to their developer node (“F2”) to review data, code, and for configuring their IDE and Conda environment. Users also have access to dozens of applications available through ULEAD. In addition, each user receives 25 GB of personal storage on the compute cluster, along with comparable file-based storage provided through ULEAD.

Shared Resources
Users may request resources from a central Slurm scheduler to access shared compute nodes, including higher-capacity VMs for querying and debugging, as well as a single large processing node for compute-intensive tasks. High-performance “scratch” storage is available on these nodes, ranging from 512GB to 2TB, to support data pre-loading and efficient processing. The shared system is managed using Slurm’s “Fairshare” feature, which allocates access to compute resources based on usage patterns and supports an equitable job-queueing system.

These resources are offered at no cost during the beta release. If your project requires additional resources or has unique requirements, please contact IPH Sr. Program Manager, Maryam Ariannejad, to schedule a consultation.

Limitations

Data cannot be freely exported from the system; however, users may request exports of aggregated data summaries. Access to GitHub.com and select container registries is permitted; however, only a limited set of external domains are allowed through the firewall. The services described above are provided as complementary resources for users, in addition to the data.

Compute and storage needs beyond the standard allocations may be available with the approval from the Institute for Precision Health and may require funding from the principal investigator (PI).

ATLAS Projects & Publications

To promote transparency, collaboration, and efficient use of ATLAS data, we provide a list of research projects currently using the ATLAS dataset. Before submitting a data access request, please review this list carefully. Investigators are responsible for ensuring that their proposed work does not substantially duplicate existing projects. This review helps prevent unnecessary overlap, supports coordination across studies, and fosters collaboration within the ATLAS research community. Researchers with related or overlapping interests are encouraged to explore opportunities for collaboration by contacting the corresponding principal investigator.
