Dr. Paul Vespa Elected President of the Neurocritical Care Society

Dr. Paul Vespa has been elected President of the Neurocritical Care Society. Dr. Paul Vespa will begin his term in October 2023. The Neurocritical Care Society is the leading international multidisciplinary organization dedicated to the mission of improving patient care and outcomes in critically ill neurologic patients. 

Dr. Paul Vespa is the Assistant Dean for Research in Critical Care, the Gary L. Brinderson Family Chair in Neurointensive Care and Professor of Neurosurgery and Neurology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Vespa is a fellow of the Neurocritical Care Society, The Society of Critical Care Medicine, The American Academy of Neurology, and The American Neurology Association. Dr. Vespa has held multiple national leadership positions including the Chair of Unified Council on Neurologic Subspecialties, Vice Chair of the American Academy of Neurology Section on Emergency and Critical Care Neurology, and Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice President of the Neurocritical Care Society. Dr. Vespa has been a mentor for the American Academy of Neurology’s Diversity Mentorship program TRANSCENDS. Dr. Vespa is co-founder of the Curing Coma Campaign and has been Chair of the NIH Review Committee for Acute Neurological Injuries and Epilepsy.
