Description
The Advanced Robotic Eye Surgery (ARES) Laboratory is aimed at developing advanced medical technology through the integration of robotics to produce safe and innovative surgical robotic systems dedicated for Ophthalmology. The primary research field of the ARES Laboratory is the application of intraocular surgical robotic systems to cataract and vitreoretinal surgical procedures via teleoperation and automation. Research is supported in part by NIH and conducted in collaboration with the UCLA Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
