  • Why you chose UCLA: UCLA’s culture is absolutely wonderful. I’m so fortunate I get to train and work with people who not only work hard but are genuinely kind. I’m honored to be a “triple” bruin!
  • What you like to do in your free time: Hanging out with my wife and 2 kids, planning for vacations, discovering cooking recipes and techniques, enjoying food with friends.

The weather (and being able to be outside comfortably 365 days a year), the abundance of things to do in LA, and then the awesome residents I met during my sub-I. I believe LA is one of the most perfect places to do residency in general, and I feel well taken care of here at UCLA. Residency is so much better than I ever could have imagined!

  • Why you chose UCLA: I chose UCLA for my training because it truly offers the best of everything. It’s a highly respected residency program without the heavy politics that can sometimes come with that. It's clear that both residents and faculty genuinely enjoy being here, fostering a positive and supportive learning atmosphere. The diverse patient population here (with both rare pathologies and complex social dynamics) offers exceptional clinical learning. And honestly, getting to live in sunny LA is just the cherry on top.
  • What you like to do in your free time: My interests include playing pickleball, spending time with my family, watching TV shows or movies, goinng for walks along the beach, biking, running, hiking, cooking, and finding halal food spots.

  • Why you chose UCLA: I chose UCLA for many reasons including the strong clinical training, close sense of community, and the incredibly supportive faculty and residents. I loved my sub-I at UCLA and knew that this was the kind of community I wanted to be a part of and contribute my skills to. I have loved every part of the residency program and greatly look forward to working with the other residents and faculty every day! It's also a bonus to be able to train in beautiful and sunny Los Angeles!
  • What you like to do in your free time: I love to spend time with my friends and family. I am a big foodie and always try to take the opportunity to explore the incredible food scene here in LA and try out new restaurants. I also enjoy going to the beach, traveling, baking, and watching reality TV!

I loved that residents ate together at the outside tables for lunch everyday - you could tell the residents were really close.

  • Why you chose UCLA: Despite only getting to participate in Zoom interviews and virtual open houses, the UCLA residents were still able to demonstrate genuine comradery and overall happiness - even virtually. It was clear the program put resident care and wellbeing first while also being a top learning environment. An added benefit is amazing weather and the chance to enjoy the endless activities SoCal has to offer after work.

Moreover, UCLA's extensive research opportunities alongside community outreach programs like Project Lead The Way demonstrate the program's deep commitment to advancing the field and supporting its community. Joining the UCLA Anesthesiology family, I'm excited to unlock my full potential as a clinician and make a positive difference in the lives of our patients and community.

  • What you like to do in your free time: Going to music festivals/concerts, trying new restaurants/cafes, lifting with occasional cardio, traveling between coasts during golden weekends, hosting dinner parties, snowboarding/skiing,  reading fiction, playing pick-up, trying new recipes that are exactly enough for one meal, walking/biking the beach, watching NBA (go Celtics).

As a Los Angeles native, I was also extremely excited at the opportunity to train near my family/friends and serve patients from the diverse community that I grew up in.
