2nd Annual UCLA ECMO Symposium and 34th Annual SEECMO Conference

 

The 2nd Annual UCLA ECMO Symposium was held on May 31, 2024. The conference was co-chaired by DAPM faculty physicians Vadim Gudzenko, MD, and Marisa Hernandez-Morgan, MD, MPP, MA. This year, it was held as a joint conference with the 34th Annual Specialist in ECMO Education (SEECMO) Conference. The three-day event was widely attended, with over 300 in-person and 165 virtual registrants. Highlights include a keynote address by Dr.  John Fraser, founder of the Critical Care Research Group, Australia’s largest acute care multidisciplinary research group, as well as lectures by several DAPM members: Joseph Meltzer, MD, Michael Wolfe, MD, Andrew "Ace" Young, MD, Jason Batten, MD, MA, Vadim Gudzenko, MD, and Marisa Hernandez-Morgan, MD, MPP, MA. The conference also included two patient panels, during which survivors of ECMO and their families shared their experiences and perspectives.
